You may know him, Sonam Wangchuk co-founded SECMOL in Ladakh to reform education through practical, skill-based learning.
Ecology: He developed the Ice Stupa project to address water scarcity caused by climate change and promoted sustainable development.
Recognition: His innovative work earned him the Ramon Magsaysay Award (2018).

Politics & Activism: He later emerged as a leading public activist, advocating for environmental conservation, constitutional safeguards, and the rights of Ladakh's people.

Today's News (19 July 2026): Wangchuk is under medical supervision in Delhi after a prolonged hunger strike and has urged supporters to join the "Chalo Sansad" march peacefully.
